The rooms provide lovely views of the vibrant lights along the promenade, lending a festive atmosphere that suits the holiday spirit of Blackpool’s bustling waterfront.
While the exterior shows signs of wear, possibly from recent damage, it does little to detract from the warm welcome provided by the staff. The availability of on-site parking adds another layer of convenience for those traveling by car.
As a family-friendly establishment, The Colwyn Hotel caters primarily to visitors who value location and ease of access over luxury. It lacks air conditioning and airport shuttle services but compensates with a simple breakfast service and proximity to key Blackpool attractions. Overall, The Colwyn Hotel embodies a sincere and grounded hospitality, ideal for travelers eager to immerse themselves in Blackpool’s lively seaside culture without fuss. Its honest approach and dedicated service create a welcoming base for memorable visits, where comfort meets the spirited energy of one of the UK’s most iconic coastal destinations.

the room definitely did the job and had comfy beds. we were provided with a TV but with no remote but if you call the hotel desk they will bring it up to your room. it did take a few calls but we got through eventually. the location was very nice, we had a nice view of the lights outside and the street. the service wasn't 24 hours like they said but they were there at times. overall it was a very pleasant stay and we enjoyed it much.
Just back from here today. When i arrived I was greeted by lovely lad and family? Not sure. But very welcoming and even made me a pot tea as I had been travelling and my room was just being finished I got there early so my fault. Local knowledge was very helpful. The outside is a bit run down as there had been accident and wall knocked down. Did is affect me no.. Car space so my car was at hotel not half way down the road. I had my friends dog with me who they loved and happy to have her there. I was very pleasantly surprised as the room i had.. New carpet, comfy bed, nice clean bedding. Hanging space for clothes. For me the view was great right on sea front so got best of daytime view and night with lights on. Was the decor perfect. No Was the shower perfect.. No but usable. But it was a room, i booked a double but found i had a double with single.. BONUS!! of convenience who took dogs. I only wanted to sleep in it.tea tray was full of sachets. If you want a perfect plush faultless hotel then keep looking and pay for it. This Hotel was a basic easy to access, easy to walk to Pleasure Beach and I loved the walk down to North Shore. I found they reply to messages and if you need anything just speak to them. Will I stay again?.. Definitely. This Hotel is a work in progress but staff far make up for it.. As a solo, older traveller I felt safe and wasnt worried about asking for anything.
